Just because Time frames are well made doesn't make weave surfaces any less tacky and outdated.
You've got to hand it to the marketing people - being able to make things cheaper and nastier and then convincing most of their potential customers that quality and proper finishing is "tacky and outdated".. :D

Although it's quite an interesting debate now I think about it, as minimalism and unfinished surfaces that showcase the fundamental properties of the material can be argued for aesthetically. There are parallels with the "brutalist" architectural style popularised in the UK in the mid 20th C. That was also sometimes conveniently used to cut costs, especially for social housing. Not to my tastes..

Wow the Weave vs UD is starting to look like Rim vs Disc. I am in the weave camp and yes I did own a Time or two. RXRS naked carbon beauty frameset.

The weave is much more marketing though. When carbon manufacturing was a new thing it was used as a way to highlight that it's carbon. And I've considered it tacky pretty much always.

Do you mean carbon "forgeries" like some carbon wrapped alu stems, etc, that weigh and cost more than plain alu but offer no advantage except bling. (I dont like fake bling - ever.)

This was imo the best looking era. Personally I'd love it if the companies started to make the packaging into something interesting like fold out artwork.
Owning that level of groupset should be something very special and customers should be made to feel that way.Image

First generation 11sp (2009?) kept that aesthetic to some extent for Record (Super Record went all black).

I still have it on my steel bike:

<edit> Although the one thing that bugs me about it is the colour-reversed "record" text. Would have looked better with just plain white on black.

To my eyes, unless you are building a neo-classic from the ksyrium age, woven carbon surfaces look terribly outdated. Thanks for giving me an opportunity to feel not-old ;)
Nothing about age, I'm in my early twenties...you just haven't seen a truly well made modern frame from Time, in a sea of cheaply manufactured UD carbon frames a weave looks stunning.

Self-edited. Straying off the topic.

Can someone help with some EPS V4 troubleshooting?

Setting up for the first time for charge it's gone up like a christmas tree: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ygkfcenmRco

After this i tried to connect to the app to diagnose/update firmware.
- Wireless protocol updated
- Interface updated
- PU update failed at 64%

Nothing happens when pressing mode buttons now.

It looks like the PU has gone, but just wanted to check if people have any other thoughts before looking to replace the battery.

Thanks!

Think you need to troubleshoot your video first, it's marked 'inappropriate'.
Clearly, the corporate might of Campagnolo has forced Google to suppress your video.

First, try a Hard Reset. Put on the magnet. Hold both mode buttons for 30s. If it works, you will then need to redo Zero Reset.

Otherwise, What you are describing isn't common, so you should call the service center in your country.

Short question , Is there an alternative for the Super Record Cups ?

Would like black or silver cups ...Not Brown
Look 695 / 6,5 Kg
Colnago Master / 8,7 kg
Baum Ristretto / 7,6 Kg
