... So were Toe Clips, DT shifter's and 36 spoke wheels. Change is good.
Please, I love downtube shifters. If I get enough guts I'm going to try putting downtube shifters on a carbon frame. The friction shifters are so compatible with everything, and they are easy to service. They're fun if you're not racing.

I don't care about black, I just care about weight. With ti and alloy I just prefer a natural silver with a sprayed on logo then cleared, carbon fibre I just want whatever is lightest with a minimal logo of some kind but not horrid decals, sprayed then cleared. If the bike happens to look black, silver or dark grey as a side effect of that being the natural color of the material, that suits me fine. I just don't see the point of dragging around hundreds of grams in paint when you don't have to, although I don't mind minimal painted 'accents'.

I have a matte finish black bike and I like having one that doesn't scream HEY LOOK AT ME.

I prefer a black bike (maybe with a contrast color) and then I can be colorful with my cycling kits. Much cheaper to change cycling kits when I get borred/tired of that then changing the bike.

I agree with some of the comments here about letting the material's natural colour shine. It's lighter, and why hide the technology under a load of thick paint? If you want to stylise it, there are loads of metals bits you can get anodised!

Black:
- doesn't scream "steal me" to thieves
- is easier to keep looking clean
- doesn't show scratches easily
- matches everything
- is lighter.

As a famous 90's rapper once said: "I like black bikes and I cannot lie"

I could only get my frame in matt black/stealth (Canyon CF SLX)

I would have chosen a different colour/finish if I could have.

They aren't stealth because of the two grey lines on the top tube.

But those lines really match up well with dark label campy bora's ;-)

I got tired of riding colorful bikes for years. In retrospect, it seems that I wanted what I didn’t have.

Now on an all-black bike, I’m longing for some color. Seems I still want what I don’t have (or ironically used to have). :noidea:

Life is a pendulum where most stuff comes back. Give it time and don’t over-think it in the meantime.

Haven't they been so for about 5-10 years now?
Exactly- this should be renamed “why is everyone so into fade paint jobs?”

I got it for free from the bike shop.

If I was not wearing any cloths, it would be HEY LOOK AT ME ;)
