Hey everyone, I'm currently deciding what I should get next depending on the pricing. I work in a bike shop and also have a special extra discount on Cannondales from their online program in addition to getting cannondale at dealer pricing. I'm not sure what to go for however as my next bike. One of two different SuperSixs from 2018 or a 2016 Hi-Mod Dura-Ace 1 brand new that we have in-store.
Not sure if I should go for the:
2018 SuperSix Evo Dura-Ace mechanical
- Comes with 9100 everything except the cranck and cassette (ultegra)
- Cannondale carbon wheels (rebranded DT Swiss I think)
2018 SuperSix Evo Ultegra Mechanical
- Less expensive and can afford to really upgrade it
2016 SuperSix Evo Hi-Mod Dura-Ace 1
- Hi-Mod, enough said.
- Full 9000
Not sure what would be the better option, sadly I can't say the prices for obvious reasons but would like some input

Keep the one you have already, ride more, and use your money to travel.

Fair point, this is just a way to treat myself though. I have money saved for travelling, this issue is lack of time due to school.prendrefeu wrote: ↑Wed Mar 07, 2018 5:28 amKeep the one you have already, ride more, and use your money to travel.
What do you ride now? And I guess, what's your ultimate goal for the bike?
You say the 2018 ultegra bike gives you money left to upgrade, but what are you intending on upgrading? Because you could also just buy the DA one with the carbon wheels. That's an upgrade. Are you trying to build the lightest bike possible in true WW fashion, or trying to get a good value?
Personally I'd probably tend towards the 2016 with DA 9000 because I'm assuming it's a better deal and the difference between 9000 and 9100 is more evolutionary than revolutionary. And there's basically no difference in weight either. So if it were me I'd probably take the hi mod frame.
But I have no idea what the price differences are here, which makes it hard to judge what the best deal is. I realizes you can't give total prices. But could you tell us relative prices? How much would you save going with the 2018 ultegra bike vs the DA? What about the 2016?

approximately 2k difference between the 2018 R8000 and the 2018 DA9100. As for the 2016 HiMod, getting an exact price tomorrow. I ride a 2012 Wilier Granturismo, I made a post on that bike and the parts on it.Kazyole wrote: ↑Wed Mar 07, 2018 5:48 amWhat do you ride now? And I guess, what's your ultimate goal for the bike?

With that price difference I'd definitely favor the ultegra over the DA 9100. Especially since the DA9100 bike doesn't come with a DA crankset, that 2k difference seems high.CraigKnobovitch wrote: ↑Thu Mar 08, 2018 1:55 amapproximately 2k difference between the 2018 R8000 and the 2018 DA9100. Though probably I'd still go for the Hi mod.
Hi Mod. I’m surprised you had to ask!
Hi Mod with DA 9000. In my opinion Ultegra 8000 and DA 9100 cranksets doesn't look that good on the SuperSix frames. DA 9000 is much more classic looking and fits the SuperSix frames better.

As far as I know, the 18's and 16's Cannondale frames are the same but only have different colors, right?
If so, I would choose Hi-Mod.
The reason? It's a Hi-Mod. enough said, as you said.
and I like Dura-Ace 9000. It's silver color is really beautiful!!!
