Hi,
Could anyone confirm the best / lightest BB for a Supersix Evo hi mod 2018 with quarq GXP power meter?
I emailed quarq;
“From what it looks like and please correct me IF I looked at the wrong specs but it looks like that is an SI offset frame? If so we are actually not compatible with AI or SI offset frames on the power meter side. Can you confirm this?”

I imagine they’re wrong, but am wondering now!

Any help much appreciated

Thanks

SS HM should be normal offset instead of Ai offset.

This could help. Ask them.

calvin, upon further finding... this could be even better solution... thread together BB cup with GxP specific bearings.

They are wrong, sounds like the tech guy is thinking of the MTB and CX AI offset which changes the whole chainline of the bike, which BB30a doesn't. Several Cannondale road models with BB30a actually come stock with Quarq power ready chainsets. BB30 version, but still, the GXP is equally compatible. As several others have said, standard BB30 to GXP adaptor just with a slightly different spacer arrangement than normal. Like recommended above I'd also go with a thread together version for no creaks.

Yes compatible. But not with those linked to above except the universal adapter in 'jlok' post. They are designed for a shell that is centred in the frame whether it be a 68mm or 73mm shell. If you used it on your frame your chainline would be 5mm too narrow.

Your shell is PF30A which is a 73mm shell offset 5mm to the non-drive side. Think 68mm shell, with 5mm added to the non-drive side.

You just need a PF30A to GXP bottom bracket or adapter.
Wheels Manufacturing Universal adapter utilises your stock bearings. You just install with 5mm less spacers on the non-drive side than a normal PF30 configuration.

There are complate bottom bracket options such as from C-Bear

Check out the installation manual of the outboard BB by wheelsmfg. It should work.

BB30 version here.

Apart from the debatable advantage of Thread Together BB shell, the most important point being the NDS bearing is a true GxP 22mm ID bearing. With that the GxP crank will be fixed on the NDS bearing as designed (NDS crank and the DS crank axle sandwiching the NDS bearing).

However, when using GxP shims / adaptors with original bb30 bearing, I think the only way to "fix" it to prevent any play would be to use enough washer plus spring washer to force it against the BB bearings. Quarq DZero BB30 (support BB386 frame actually) should have the Internal Adjuster ring at NDS to take up any play.

Thanks for all the help guys, think I’m gonna go for the c bear - they were helpful by email and seem to be the lightest B.B. too
