Yep, now that we have a photo of the frame the whole Poll needs to be redone.

Here is my bike with 44mm deep rims and 40mm tires, doing it again I think might go with shallower wheels or maybe gumwalls would help break up all the black but at the time nothing tubeless in 40mm and a tread I wanted was available.

Masters are a special case, they deserve a vintage look-like an Ambrosio Nemesis. Nice tubular pair on paceline classifieds at a great price if they're still available.
Cysco Ti custom Campy SR mechanical (6.9);Berk custom (5.6); Serotta Ottrott(6. ; Anvil Custom steel Etap;1996 Colnago Technos Record
No I built the myself, i9 hubs to some open mold rims. No issues as of yet and I thrash them pretty hard!cassard wrote:what wheels are you using ? I think what looks good are wheels that fit the riding style.
38mm on a tricycle, or a flat road bike, short ride commuter, don't look too good.
Just as deep wheels look weird on a climber or shallow look weird on a flat road bike.
For nostalgia purposes though some bling shallow rims could be put on a road bike. Would be more of an exhibition bike and not a riders bike.
I know I might have weird preferences. Get the wheels you like and don't listen to others.

I like to go with similar theory of going same size wheel depth as downtube, but also went different approach of atleast matching downtube dia. With line if tan wall
