I vote Protone. Personally i feel it is the best fitting helmet ive ever owned but fit is a very individual thing. I have never tried the Valegro but fit wise should be the same? Aesthetically speaking, Protone any day over the Valegro. Valegro to me just doesnt look right and it looks very similar to the Specialized Prevail. Once again, very individual.

I just switched from Vertigo 2.0 to Protone. The Pro tone fits even better. Lower profile, better coverage, aero, and the up-down articulating arms in rear are much smaller than the Vertigo. I think you will be happy with it.

Protone. Thing fits like a damn glove, doesn't give you a mushroom head, and looks better (in my opinion) than the two new helmets Kask just announced.

KASK Protone or Valegro?

If you do go for the Protone, check to make sure that it works with your glasses. My Radar Locks won't work with the helmet as the retention system on the Protone interferes with the arms of the glasses.

I have the same thing with my Oakley EVzeros. Although I just simply put the arms under the retention system. They will still fly off your head during a crash and they stay in place very well. I also found the specialized evades to fit very-well.

Perfect reason to splurge and get some KOO glasses with Zeiss lenses. Made by Kask to fit perfectly with their helmets.

Long time user of Protone which I like, got the chance yesterday to see for first time on hand the Valegro and it's indeed basically the same helmet with just more vents.
So I'd say that it's up to you to what you prefer more; Protone is ventilated enough but it's on the market from some time now, while Valegro might not work for everyone as for aesthetic alone but it's newer and a tad lighter.

I like POC helmets mainly as they have a clear focus on safety.

They're reasonably light, well ventilated and you have the option of MIPS.

Wearing a helmet is a legal requirement here in NZ.
