Typical Madone build weight, ?<7kg

How easy/expensive is it to get a self-build Madone 9 below 7kg?
Current bike is old, non-aero but sub 6.8. and loves hills.
Thinking of going for something completely different: Madone H2 frame with Ultegra Di2, 1600g wheelset etc. Could I get this below 7kg without selling a kidney?

I may turn 180deg and go for Emonda or similar but am intrigued by all the new tech around and am considering an aero bike for fast bunch rides while accepting a small weight penalty on the hills. But I don't want a 8.5kg monster. I'd be grateful for any real weights, either factory or self-builds.

Of course I'd like two superbikes but can only afford one.

A riding buddy just built up a H1 RSL to < 6.9kg with Dura-Ace Di2 and 404’s.
Q: with riding position having such an impact on drag why wouldn’t you get the H1?

Weights are given on Treks site, sounds like your building something close to the 9.5 build, comes in at around 7.5kg in the 56.

You can get the weights of all the components on the trek site and then just adjust from there.

My buddy just built up his size 52 Madone 9 (Series 600, H2) with Dura Ace 9150 di2, Zipp 404 NSW's, Bontrager Madone XXX Integrated bar, Bontrager XXX carbon super light saddle, and Speedplay Zero Titanium pedals. Total weight 6.9-KG.

Its gonna be pretty hard to build ANYTHING sub7 with 1600g wheels...

I’ve done a 58 H2 with etap and the Aeolus 5 clincher wheels. Came in at 6.9kg. You should clear that easily.

What's the weight difference between Series 600 and Series 700? Also is H1 lighter?

I think the difference clocks in at about 100ish grams, depending on frame size (larger frames will have a larger difference in weight). H1 is lighter.

From what I have seen and heard, the difference in weight between h1 and h2, 600 vs 700 is 100 to 120g.

Hope the thread is still active and has the attention of some weight nerds. I own a 2020 Madone SLR 6 Disk with the 'Aeolus Pro 5' wheelset which I am happy with.

My question: would changing the wheelset to the 'Aeolus xxx 6' be a real gamechanger? ...for me 2200 bugs is a lot of money and I might probably get 700 for the old wheelset. So with 1500 bugs invested, would that really noticeably improve my riding/speed? I do not care so much about crosswinds, which usually is one of the benefits of the xxx 6. So at the end we talk about a 170 gram weight improvement here. Is that really it? Maybe some of you have had the chance to ride both wheelsets for comparison.

Save your money. Aero gain from pro 5 to XXX 6 is there but you can hardly feel it. Get a pair of Farsports or LB laced to Carbon Ti, cheaper and lighter.
