I was a long time (10 years+) Sidi user and tried Shots when they came out. I hated them. The fit never felt right and I couldn't ever get the closures right over the tongue. I ended up moving to the S-Works 7's which are, for me, the best shoes I've ever used.

Medium to narrow foot and high arch, so I prefer the Wire. Fits like a glove.

I have five pairs of Sidi Wire and one pair of Shot. Its no contest. The Shot is way more comfortable for me. It sucks as I rarely wear the other shoes :(

Thanks Chris.. Will have a look at the superfeet carbons.

Guyc/noc, I suspect the preference is due to the change of dial location.
Some with bony/pointy top of foot would hate the Shots location.
Mine seems happy so far.. Have. Tried the wire and ergo and didn't have issues with them. Last shape seems the same.

I use Wire model. Had an opportunity to try Shot at bike fitting but did not like dials being at the top at all. Wonder how new Wire 2 feel with one dial at the top and one at the side?

Just a quick update at this thread revival.

Did try the Superfeet Carbon as suggested by Chris.. its worked out well. thin enough and enough support.

6months in .. still generally awewsome. Its pretty hardy and have come through some scrapes and bumps with minimal marking.

Just coming through a winter here and have worked well with both thin and thick socks with the vents closed. Plays well with my Assos Shoe covers.

No issues with the dials so far that would need replacement.. how often does people need to replace them?

Regarding the Shot, for me the two dials on top of the show produce 'hot spots' and become extremely uncomfortable. Not sure why they decided to do this. Style over function I feel. Also, the heel retention is not as good.

Has anyone else noticed that the SHOTs retain heat better than other SIDI models?
I've been wearing my Shots in dry 5 degrees celsius weather & I'm pretty good for two hours.
I wear merino wool socks with no Shoe Cover or Toe Thingy.

My shots seem to pinch my forefoot more than my wires. Both with the same custom insole. I’m wondering if it’s the placement of the closures and closure ends that is the issue?

I have the exact same experience! Not sure as to why but there is a clear difference to me.

The wire has a completely different design to the shit in the toe area...... eg. The shot is more ventilated.
