This will be on a road/gravel bike. I have settled on 46/30 chainset to use with Di2, but would a braze-on front derailleur be able to shift this without any issue? The question is mech height vs. small ring size.

FD-R8050, FD-6870 are officially compatible with 46-32 (FC-U5000-2) crankset, so 46-30 should be ok

If your braze-on is too high you may need WickWerks Fit Link

Thank you! At least that WickWerks Fit Link should provide a way out should there be some problem.

R U sure you cn put FD so low on road frame ?

Other thing, I wouldn't expect "proper" shifting from 16t difference goint from very ( for the road ) small lower chainring (30).

I can be wrong, and have plenty of examples for that ;)

I tried to fit a 46-tooth crank on a Trek Emonda, and the braze-on mount wasn't even close, but that WickWerks Fit Link looks like it could work.

Specialized spec'd this frame with 48/32 in it's last year year (my 2016 came with 50/34) and has continued it with the new generation Diverge, so I'm hoping the 46/30 will be ok even without the adapter.

Not all braze-on can be lowered to the needed location
To be safe it is better to get frame with round seattube
Alu Diverge have round seattube, but this is less common for carbon
