Hello.

I have used the carbon top cap that came with my bike. But the top cap is too thick, so it looks like a spacer. Even the thickness of its edge which is the thinnest part is 4mm.

I prefer to place a 5mm spacer above the stem, so thick top cap makes too high protrusion above the stem.

I would like to buy a really thin top cap. The thiner the better!!!

I don't care what material the top cap is made from and how much is its weight.

I don't even care if the thin top cap is too weak to be used for headset setting. Cause I have other top caps for setting, and I think I can just swap to the thin cap after headset/stem setting is done.

Do you have any items in your mind that you would like to recommend for me?

Extralite one is thin. Couldn't say for sure without measuring it but wouldnt be more than 2-3mm I think. Recommended torque is like 2nm or something

I use these Carbonice Ahead Cap Heiße Inge for this purpose. It's a 5mm spacer & top cap all in one piece. Available in 3K or UD. Expensive though and I would definitely preload the headset with a more robust spacer and top cap before installing as you've noted.

Never fit a flat-style top cap that does not have much interlocking with the top of the stem or spacer underneath. If a bike topples over or you crash the top cap is quite vulnerable. If it receives a hit it can dislodge causing damage to the bung and steerer.

The top caps that sit deep inside the stem/steerer are like that for a really good reason.

Don’t listen to these alarmists!

Carbon-Ti’s top cap is completely flat, and awesome. McFK a little rounder in profile but still very low.

The integrated spacer/cap from carbonice looks like a perfect solution for your needs.

Top cap and screw all in one in TI.
Never really used since the supersix utilise a proprietary top cap designed to support pivot compression and never wanted to risk swapping it.
