it seems to propegate out from the NDS drop out.
i did the coin-tap-test, and there was no dead-thud... all was plinky-tinky

I'm no carbon expert but that looks rather insignificant. :lol:

I understand an expensive frame comes with high expectations but sometimes it seems the expected level of perfection is too high. Don't you think?

Carbon experts like Raul at Luescher I imagine would say the only way to be sure is by an ultrasound test.

Looks like a paint crack as far as I can tell from the pic.
The coin test only works on tubes. This is a solid part.

Just guessing here, but I'm going to agree with others and say that's just paint. Right there at the dropout, it's going to be pretty heavy duty. Possible that's a joint where two pieces were bonded together, perhaps the clamp area is separate from the junction of the stays and bonded in? Without being able to see under the paint, probably pretty hard to say. I would think it would be safe to ride, but I'd keep an eye on it for a few weeks and check it after my rides to make sure it's not expanding. I'd also make sure you're not over-tightening your QRs.
