doesn't look comfortable. maybe it needs a hood?
and the angle is pointing downwards. i guess ergonomic wise, it needs more work.
The actual lever as well, how does it feel when braking in the hoods / drops?

The bike is on a stand so the angle looks odd, but the hand position is quite horizontal actually. I’m still waiting on the second printed part to install the other side then I’ll finally be able to go for a ride to really have a felling on comfort and on extreme braking. Theoretically it looks like if I wrap enough tape around the lever body it will give me a nice cushion and good grip, we’ll see.

You could get a set of the Magura road leers they offeres ages ago. They were part of an Edco group in the '90s

That’s cool! However I’m on disc brakes!

They'll still work though right? You can use Sram hydro levers with disc and rim brakes.

Yes they work. So yeah I do agree that this ‘solution’ is somewhat unnecessary in the present time since the industry already figured this out with several road hydro brakes out there available.

I did this because I had this MT8 set looking for a bike to be installed....also, I suspect this solution is much much lighter Than the Sram Hydro road brakes. When I get home I can post the numbers here, if anyone can post the weight of the SRAM hydro brakes here to compare it would be interesting also.

This means that a front Road brake setup with Old Mt8’s is:

Caliper,hose,lever 177.7g
Steel Printed adapter: 18.9g
Alloy M6X8mm bolt: 2g
Total: 198.6g

SRAM force hydraulic without shift paddle and internals, full length hose and caliper: 312g
https://www.bikerumor.com/wp-content/up ... 00x238.jpg

113g difference, plus another 120g or so shaved for the rear brake, that's 233g total shaved on the bike just on brakes!

.......and yeah....I'm working on tucking that ugly brake hose inside the tape to look better.

This is the solution that the guys that did the Road Bike Party vids used (except it was Hope calipers and levers) rather than use 'proper' road levers.

Yeah I remember that, back when disc brakes weren't so prominent in the bike industry.
