I just received my new carbon tirelevers from Alden Carbon.
The look and feel strong and solid an will test these the coming time, curious to see what happens with tubeless tires for example but the first impression is good and saved 4 grams over my Lezyne levers.

Obviously not being marcelflash, but I did a little google search - this started off as a kickstarter but you can now buy them directly from Alden by e-mailing him.

That is awesome! Something that only true weight weenies could appreciate. Nice that they aren't ridiculously expensive either. Is it bizarre for me to think these would be more fragile than plastic levers?

Sounds like a good way to damage carbon rims, tires and tubes.

I'd sure hate to have one snap when replacing the tube 30 miles from home.

I'll keep my Park since they have proven themselves to me over the years.

BTW.. a true weight weenie doesn't carry a saddle bag.

Tobin, I'm not sure why you think this would be so, as long as the edges and contours of the lever are well smoothed. Actually, the design is quite intriguing- I like that there is a different lever for initially pulling the bead out from the rim, and one for freeing the rest of the tire. One could theorize that the thinness of the design (afforded by the strength of the carbon fiber) might cause less damage.

^ They may be lighter but they look round to me (?). Would have thought flatter ones would be better for getting the tyre off and more comfortable to hold as well. Think how annoying it is to hold a (relatively) heavy plastic bag compared to a handbag handle (not that I own a handbag  :D ).
