Hi all, just getting ready to build up a TT bike with di2. For the derailleurs, any good reason to choose 8050 over 6870?
I have another TT bike setup with 6870 and it is flawless. The 8050 price doesn't bother me, its not that much more from the UK mailorder houses, but not sure there is any reason to get it?

Oh yes. I just got a 8050 RD for my Dura Ace 9150 build. The 9150 RD only goes to a 30 tooth while the 8050 goes to a 34. The newer ‘shadow’ RD is awesome. They are completely differently from the previous generation RD. The pulley cage tension is extremely high. I bet it’s done on purpose for flawless shifting. Plus the 8050 gives you the ability to run a 34 cassette. I’m also using a direct mount derailleur hanger on the 8050. If you have a direct mount hanger then the 8050 will save you weight and provide extra stiffness on the derailleur mounting position. By all means get the 8050.

So for that 34 capacity, I assume that means you went with the long cage version?
Looks like I'll get the 8050. I'm thinking I'll get 8050 for both front and rear derailleurs, Dura Ace crank (just because I like it... ), absolute black chainring, wheelsmfg BB, and use the brake lever and extension shifters from my previous build. Building a Felt IAxx frameset.
