Just curious about people's experiences with the SRAM XG-1190 cassette shifting on non SRAM systems. I originally was using the SRAM cassette in conjunction with a full DA9150 system and rear shifting was say 98% of the DA cassette [quite ok and acceptable], upgraded to a DA9170 system and rear shifting is s##t compared to the DA cassette. I also have another bike set up with R/SR Campy, using the SRAM shifting is problematic at best. Last night fitted a spare DA9000 cassette and the difference is night and day. Now it is not the one SRAM cassette as I have 2 [11/28] of them. One has done less than 500k, guessing I will flog them both off and stick with the DA's, maybe even try one of the new Rotor cassettes......

PS. both bikes are Pina F8's size 50...........

You using Sram chains? That cassette is nice so I understand why people want to use it, but you have a lot invested a Shimano drive chain, best to keep the system whole.

Ho, one is the KMC 11 speed SL and the other a Campy record 11 speed.

1190 is lighter and issue free in comparison to DA- fair enough reason to use it with Shimano components.

I use currently 11-28 1190 with everything else Shimano. No issues whatsoever.

What series Shimano are you using? Mine was good with the 9000/9150 but crap as soon as I fitted a 9170 RD

I’m on a disc bike with short chainstays. With SRAM cassettes and a SRAM drive train I get considerable meshing noise in 50x11 and 50x12. When backpedaling there is a bit of hop/catching in 50x11-14. Shifting is not an issue though.

I'm on DA 9000/9001 and Ult R8000.

With Shimano mechanical RD's there's no "red RD backpedalling issue" :) smooth same as forward. 135 OLD frame.

Yep, shifting quality was very close to the DA with 9000/9150 RD....

Same here. Since 1190 is the lightest, I used it with 9000, 9070, 9150, and etap. The only one that gave me hard time is SR EPS (then again I always have hard time adjusting Campy. One day I might learn...)
