I thought I’d share my hack with you guys. My saddle bag needs are very very modest in terms of volume. I wanted something to fit Topeak micro rocket pump, tubeless tyre worms with the little sharp tool to plug them in, a couple of hex keys and house keys. Unfortunately, 1) every saddle bag long enough to fit the pump is too big for these few bits, and they just dangle about, while 2) small saddle bags tend to be too short, and 3) they are all too heavy (come on, who needs those extra 30g). So, here is the hack.
Ingredients:
- a small neoprene pencil case with a zip, like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Colorline-5948 ... 51&sr=8-17
- tie-less elastic shoe laces https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07 ... UTF8&psc=1

The case is actually too long for the pump, so I cut off the extra bit, and sown up the hole. Then poked some holes in the right places to make a bit of a lacing pattern. You can kind of see how on the pics. Result:
- a saddle bag that fits just the right amount of stuff, and weighs 20g
- does not rattle and is securely attached to the saddle rails
- aero: the width is the same as the seat post
- cheaper than anything else on the market

Obviously if you want to carry a spare tube this precise setup won’t work, but there are probably slightly bigger neoprene cases out there, and crafting something that fits exactly what you want to carry is really not that challenging. You could probably even use a sheet of neoprene as a wrapper and attach it with the same lacing system.

SNAP.B with its extended sleeve is able to accomodate a folded 23c clincher tire. I would assume it can hold a tubular tire too.

@Survivor I see that your kickstarter is running again. Another question for you. What fatigue analysis have you completed to take account of impact of vibrations from the road causing the plastic clips to fail? I've known of so instances of camera mounts to fail for this reason.

We have ran our attachment system with full load on our test jig for over 1500 hours now without failure. Our test jig was created with the sole purpose of torturing our attachment system and stress test it’s capability.
