Yeah, the 7 just popped up. It wasn't there before. I'm glad to see that they're rolling out more models, especially the mid-range (of the top-end).

For Australians. We can only order the 7 and 8 versions with project one, and get them ordered from the states.

As an fyi, US Madone SLR Disc frameset MSRP is $4,279. Add P1 finishes on top of that. Not posted on the site yet, but dealers can order with about a 35 day lead time.

Seems like a much better option than the Spesh Venge imo. Not just another "me too" frame that looks like every other aero bike out there, quite a bit more reasonably priced, likely quite a bit more aero from all the whitepapers I've read, certainly more comfortable even if about 300g heavier, and clearly far better paint options. I was between the two, but starting to lean to Madone for all of the above reasons.

But paint options are not for free and also the stem bar combo will not be for free. With the cheapest P1 paint Option and including the stem bar combo you will reach about 5500 USD. So S-Works Venge is much cheaper.

$3700 frame (I suspect the $4279 price is the price of the frame through P1 because that’s the only way dealers can order it right now)
$200 seatmast
$300 stem
$400 bar

So $4600-5200 for a Madone SLR if my assumption is correct. $5700 if yours is correct.

You don’t get the bar/stem combo with the Venge either and the Sagan edition costs $6250...

Well you’re special then. The US MSRP is $6250 with seatpost and without bar/stem.

No, not special. Europe is much cheaper I think.

Anyone know if the new stem / bar will be backwards compatible (pre SLR) or a backwards compatible one is in the works?

The venge frame should include the stem (unless you need a different angle/length?), but the bar I believe you will have to order separately. Neither ends up being all that cheap, especially if you have to switch from rim/disc components or are building a full bike from scratch. The madone at least you still have the option of going rim if you have components to move over.

The new Venge Pro looks like a great deal when looking at the list price of the Madone SLR 7. Keep $500 in your pocket and get a bike that is a pound lighter.
