Can't seem to find a good comparison online, are there any major differences aside from the color and the 9100 being a bit narrower?

Cheers

Probably no much difference. But 9100 is less ugly, major point ;-)

Personally I like look of the 9000 more, but "beauty" it's veery disputable.

From what I've seen 9100 is much more prone to scratching. Over time it maybe be issue.

I have both on my bikes...

They work perfect !

The difference is between the chainrings, on the 9100 the space is 0,4mm more than on the 9000 !

Tnx for the info guys.
Will go with 9000 cranks then, as they were much cheaper, and imo nicer looking too.

Honestly I too prefer the 9000 cranks and it goes well with the dura ace srm power meter. Only dislike about it that the color looks like an ultegra to me.

Not to mention that the shape of the mounting lug closest to the crank arm is curved slightly, which for now at least, limits choice of aftermarket rings such as Absolute Black.

Also, Shimano says you can use the new front mech with the old crankset, but not the old front mech with the new crankset. There is anecdotal evidence on the web where folks are using the old FD with the new crankset just fine, though.

I've got 9000 front mech on one bike and 9100 on the other. both work fine with a couple of tweaks.

Has anyone found a way to put 9100 rings onto a 9000 crankset? I have a Quarq Dfour that I migrated to a 9150 bike.

On a pure theoretical note: the new version has a higher effective moment of inertia than the old one due to the larger cross section of the crank arm and the fact that the part under the centroid has thicker walls than those above it.

I know that the 9100 is a little more stiffer. The color 9100 is good.

Don't suppose you could elaborate on this? I've just ordered a 9100 chainset and was hoping to put my 9000 Absolute Black Inner ring on.
