Are you seeking performance improvements or trying to look more 'pro'? I have seen triathletes and time trial specialists go gonzo for getting lower on the front only to see overall performance suffer because the athletes could not comfortably maintain the position for the duration of an event. Seems to me you need to spend some time on a Smart Trainer with a training app that you can use to definitively quantify the results of these changes to make sure you are actually making improvements.

There is a point that you can't get your leg up and over crank without sapping power from opposite leg. I agree, straight back and rotate hips first (if you don't have any physical limitations).
