Other observations:
- The dials obviously. Are they Boa or not?
- The burrito wrap tongue. I've had problems with these personally, but most people seem to get along fine with them.
- Stiffness Index of 15 on the Specialized scale...previous max was 13.
- The upper around looks really thin compared to last gen/
I love mine. I need slightly longer Boa cable on one foot too make the single connection easier.

I'm a white cycling shoe guy, but the 7s are entirely too white to be practical from a cleanliness standpoint. Some of the pros wore 6s last year that had the Boas, the tongue, and I believe the velcros in black, which are the parts that turn yellow/brown first. A shame they didn't do that with the 7.

I'd say that's true of pretty much any white shoe though.
The material on the new 7's is very wipeable and doesn't have much in the way of areas to catch and trap dirt. Certainly way better than my old Sidi Wire's in that department (they looked grubby fast).
I wouldn't choose to wear the white ones in anything but good weather, but these are such damn good shoes that I bought a black pair as well for that very purpose.

The tongue on my one shoe seems to keep slipping side to side making a weird sound (and rubbing the top of my foot) whenever I pedal. It doesn't matter how tight I crank the boas. Is anyone else getting this? How do I fix it? It's rather annoying.

try to do a warranty, or put a stitch on one side of tongue/upper interface

I got mine last week and love them but... Theyre just unwearable. They're cut a little higher out the outside than the three previous generations, and constantly rub the underside/front of my ankle bone.
This is super puzzling becuase I've been wearing the same size and used Specialized for something like 6 years and 40,000 or so miles. The pro, then the 5th generation s-works, then a sub 6 pair, and now these.
They fit so well in every other way but I can't imagine this is a problem that's going to go away when they "break in."
The dyneema material is soooo stiff there is no way its going to push down. Don't know whether to send them back and try something else or take them in to a cobbler and get 3/32 trimmed off for a couple inches. But this is an expensive disappointment.
I've relied on Specialized's fit for so long I wouldn't even know what other brand and size to try and it would just be a crapshoot because no dealers in my region to afford to actually carry in stock comparable models like the Vaypor or the S-Phyre.
So anything else is a real gamble that I would get the size right.

I noticed the same thing. They are def cut higher compared to the previous generation S-works shoes. The issue makes it slightly uncomfortable when walking but not sure big deal when you are pushing pedals (supposedly a more forward move)
I wear size 47 and it feels like these shoes run a bit bigger (at least wider around the toes). Maybe this a good thing since my feet gets swollen end of long rides.

the s-works 5 height was good for me. then, when i switched to the 6, it hit my ankle bone more than the 5. maybe i should reconsider on the 7. will have to try one out when they come back in stock.

The tongue will sometimes dig into the top of the right foot. Wish it had a touch of padding.

Loose heel lugs and also poorly glued soles seem to be fairly common issues with the new 7s.
