Bar tape for rainy weather
Moderator: robbosmans
I eventually ordered the Lizard Skins Bar Tape DSP in 2.5mm.
Really a nice grip when it is raining!
The 2.5mm gives a lot of comfort. Unfortunately the look is shiny and I prefer the matt look so that I will now try the 1.8mm which seems to be matt.

Lizard Skins DSP in 2.5mm thickness.
I love that tape. Arundel Gecko is good too and much less expensive. I've used both for years but in the end prefer the Lizard Skins. Tacky and super comfy.

I think the colors and matte/gloss of Lizard Skins are the exact same in all 3 thicknesses.
I use the medium thickness and love it. Best bar tape I've ever tried for several reasons and worth the expense.

Gaffer tape. NOT Duct Tape, propper Gaffer Tape.
It's the lightest of all of the aforementioned options, too.
This is Weight Weenies, people. Gaffer tape is lighter, cheaper (by length), more durable, and great in all weather conditions.

It's more matte finish than the Lizard Skins. Not quite as tacky or plush but longer lasting and much less expensive.
Thanks for the feedback! Will try some whenever possible.eaglejackson wrote:It's more matte finish than the Lizard Skins. Not quite as tacky or plush but longer lasting and much less expensive.TonyM wrote:Is the Arundel Gecko matt or glossy like the Lizard Skins DSP in 2.5mm?
I'm a gecko fan, half the cost of lizard skin if you buy on sale and feels good with or without gloves. I like dsp as well, but I find it pricey and not as durable as the arundel. Either are no fun to wrap perfectly.
