Hi everybody
I'm 100% new to open mould frames.
My winther project is to build a super light climbing bike.
I'm looking for the frame with the best combination between lightness/stiffness.
(Normal brakes, available in size 56)
Hope someone can guide me to some nice frames.
Thanks in advance

Welcome!
Why OEM? I would try to find a high quality used frame. There are many in classifieds. Something like a used supersix or a TCR sl is all you need.

PS. i'm not into super light weight Chinese carbon fiber because i want more beefy/aero frame for peace of mind but that's just me. Also i think FM-008 seems better than 066.

I have the Dengfu R01, same bike as Tan Tan's FM066, its stamped R01 in the headtube.
I like it a lot. My issue with the FM008 is it only fits 25mm tires. FM066 fits 28mm. Also I do not trust that new seatpost clamp.
The FM686 / LTK118 looks nice as well. Ribble uses the same frame produced by flybike (sold by tan tan) and it gets pretty good reviews.

Hi waltthizzney
Thanks for your reply.
Is it correct that you can run a 28 mm tire on your R01? According to Dengfu's web-site the max. tire size is 25 mm!! (have you tried running a 28 mm on the frame?) http://m.dengfubikes.com/index.php?s=/104.html
Regards

I fit 28mm GP4000 on a 17.5mm rim that blow up to 31mm roughly and they just fit, a normal 28mm would fit fine.

OK - perfect.
I will probably go with a 25 mm tire, but it's nice to have the opportunity to go 28 mm.
Thanks
