Ok to use carbon rails?
Moderator: robbosmans
Om my TMR02, im currently using Romin Evo saddle with Ti rail. Would like to use the Romin Evo Pro with carbon rail but not sure if ok to use with this type of clamp. It's bolted down from the top, so it's a bit hard to run a ratchet through the cut out to torque down.

I use a saddle with carbon rails for 3 seasons now without any problems.

Edit: the rails are "Carbo-Keramic"

I have the same Selle San Marco Aspide saddle with oval carbon rails on both my bikes. One seat post has the proper cradle/clamp for ovalised carbon rails, the other just has the standard clamp for round rails. No issues with either. (But I'm 58kg.)

I had a C64 Selle Italia saddle that I broke the saddle but the rails were fine. If the rails were hollow [Which I believe they are not] then they could crush and break. Since they are solid, I really do not think you could crush them.
