Hi,

thanks for helping me:) I have R785 di2 hydraulic DI2 shifters connected via SM-BH59 hoses to 805 calipers. Thinking of upgrading shifters to 9170.
Is it cross compatible? According to Shimano I can see that 9170 shifters are compatible wit these calipers: 9170, 8070 and BR-RS785 via BH90 cable.

They don´t mention 805 calipers, though I thought they thery were the same as 785 except for post mount vs flat mount...I wanted to keep 805 as they are the same weight as 9170 calipers (and weight, not functionality is my reason to upgrade shifters -150g saving)

If that works, do I need to change the hose to BH90? I know BH90 is stiffer and BH59 has better modulation...is it a problem to have 9170 shifters, BH59 hose and 805 calipers?

Thank you.

Should be no problem as I ran the 9170/805 shifter/caliper combo until the BR-9150 calipers became available. While it typically is supplied with the retail box set of the R9170 shifters, you will need the BH90 brake hose specific to the R9170 shifters as the threaded on hydrauklic hose fitting is larger for the 9170 than the R785 shifters.

Thanks. Do you see any difference/gains when switching from 805 to 9150 calipers?
(except for aesthetics, dura ace is by far nicer)
