Hi

I am about to fit this BB30 to 24mm bottom bracket Into a Cannondale with a BB30 shell.

https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/bottom-brac ... oad-68-mm/

The one thing I am unsure on is do I need to leave the circlips that sit behind the BB30 bearings in place or remove them before fitting. My inclination is that they stay put but they are not mentioned in the basic fitting instructions that are included with the BB and would like some advice before I get it wrong.

Any help would be most welcome.

Thank you.

Looks to me like you definitely need to remove the clips. They are there to act as a stop for a BB30 bearing.

That adapter BB needs to bear against the outside of the BB shell, not the clips.

The clips may or may not interfere with the new BB, it's hard to tell, but why risk it?

You need to remove the circlips/snap rings

You must make sure the face of your bottom bracket shell is flat and smooth otherwise you'll have problems
