Arrgh, my 2016 Pacenti SL23 Powertap G3 build just cracked this evening.

Think it will be HED Begium rims for me now. Pacenti fair too fragile.

My rear Pacenti SL23 V1 rim cracked at the nipples, re-built using the same spokes and nipples onto a H-Son Plus about 2 years ago and not had a single issue with the wheel.

Front is still as good as they day I got it (10,000km) about, but about to wear out the rim, so will look to re-build onto something like another H-Son plus or Kinlin.

I have another Powertap build on an H-Plus Son Archetype dating from 2013, still true and still going strong. They are slightly heavy but they they are strong and durable.

The Pacenti SL23 is a bit like the old Velocity A23, a nice rim but the spoke bed is too fragile.

Given the 4mm difference in red between the archetype and sl23 I don't see how you can use the same spokes.

The new Forza seems reliable. Replace with that but the kinlin are a fine choice too.

The Ambrosio p20 has the same red so this is perfect.

1. I have not myself come across any situations where users have reported cracking to the front rim. Every report I read appears the same, crack to one or more rear drive side spoke drilling. Is this situation the case? Is the sl23 proving to be strong enough to handle the stresses in the front wheel.
You have now. The other week I discovered a loose spoke on my SL23 front wheel. Oops, it's loose because it's pulled through the rim... On close inspection there was incipient cracking around several other spoke nipples. This has happened about a year after the same happening on the rear, I haven't even used those wheels that much in the past year.

Was running this wheel tubeless.

Looks like Pacenti has new owners and they are offering a lifeline to SL23/25 owners.

I am using velocity Quill 622-21.
No Problems, look nice but the brake track is very small.

Cynic! Probably correct though.

I replaced my rear SL23 Powertap build with a Forza after it cracked, time will tell.
