No reason why the envie wouldn't climb well - if it's good enough for Sunweb. If thats what she likes the look of then buy that. If it matters it also looks like the envie has the best wheels of the three.

The only downside of the Envie is that it's an older design than the Langma/Tarmac, but I wouldn't worry too much about that.
I write the weightweenies blog, hope you like it :)

Disclosure: I'm sponsored by Velocite, but I do give my honest opinion about them (I'm endorsed to race their bikes, not say nice things about them)

True, although you should be able to upgrade the Langma to the same Giant carbon wheels and come out at a similar price to the Envie and Tarmac (where the Tarmac is still on a more basic wheelset). The Langma should be a smoother ride than the Envie on bad roads but they'll both climb and they'll both race really well.

I've heard lots of complaints about the brakes on the Envie/Propel.

if the bike fits and she likes the look go envie. it sound like you might want to talk her out of it for some reason. don't do it. you might win the battle and lose the war

Can you swap the Envie's brakes out for Ultegra? Are they specific to the frame? I don't know the bike, but if there are complaints about the brakes then take pause and do a little research.

I can tell you for the seasons I rode my Cervelo S2 I climbed just fine. Would I have climbed faster with a non-aero bike? Yeah sure, but the S2 was hella fast so the Envie probably will be too. She'll be happy enough with the Envie so long as you sort out any doubts about the brakes.

It's important though for her to stop and think: does she want a climbing bike, an aero bike, an aggressive fit all-rounder, or something more endurance oriented? That will tell her what bikes to look at and will rule out others.

Bring her favorite set of wheels, and get the dealer to let her test ride each.
Then let her pick.

Unless you already have a dog house built. :D

@rsantos: it might be good to know a bit about your wife's riding history. Does she ride already? How much? If yes, what frame? Is she comfortable on it?

Etc etc

I would get her on something she likes, but most important that she is comfortable on and likes riding. My fiancé ended up on a Trek Silque - pretty upright geometry, very "cushioned", but good bike to progress on. No point having her not ride because she's uncomfortable.

She obviously needs to ride some bikes. Going by, "she likes the look of ..." is not the way to buy a bike. It's her first lesson on bike buying.

She rides a aluminium bike, and she rides my Merida Scultura also, and she notice a BIG diference, she rides a carbon Epic for mtb. Now i was searching for a reliable, light ans good performance bike for all types of terrain

Do you really? If she's just starting out, surely the bike is of secondary importance. She won't be lighting up the TdF shortly to warrant bike specialisation. If you can find an allround bike she likes, all the better, but the Envie is a very good bike in any case. I'd say if she gets to pick the bike she likes, there's more chance of her effectively riding it.

If I'm reading it wrong and she's not just starting out, disregard my post :beerchug:

Sorry, can't help. Too generic information. I would first go by geometry, then by comfort, then weight, then aeroness :)
