Carbon-Ti Carborings?

Hi,

has anybody tried the Carbon Ti Carboring rings?

They look cool and are pretty light.

Got some they work fine. Shame I dont use Shimano though.

FiberLyte makes all carbon chainrings that are lighter for less money. They will sell you a pair of 53 and 39 rings for about 190 Pounds total, including VAT. The link you gave is for 188 Euros for one ring including VAT. Pounds and Euros aren't equal but not too far apart. 1 Euro=$1.17, 1 Pound=$1.35.

All carbon chain rings sound like a really bad idea. Afaik very low usability and durability.

I got 4000km out of a 52T fibrelyte ring before I lost 4 teeth on a fast ride.

I have both the old versions (10 speed) and the new ones (11 speed).
11 speed ones shift ok; not good not bad, just ok (they are not Dura Ace or Praxis).
10 speed ones shift worst for sure. Small ring - 8th grear always made a scraping sound (chain touching the small metal protrusions helping the chain shift). I ended up using a dremel to shave them of a little.
Nonetheless, they are Italian (e.i. stylish...)

Dont shift rings then. Inner rings are not that useful.

That's exactly why I wouldn't use them.

I wouldn't recommend Carbon-Ti either. Shifting isn't close to Dura-Ace level, and durability is questionable: mine cracked after 6000km during an uphill sprint. And I'm a small rider at 64kg, not powerful by any stretch of imagination.
