Smooth bearings, but, I will replace the worn-out plastic bushings to EZO MR128ZZ bearings.

Main issue is the cleats, but:
I still use the original cleats, because I bought cleatskins (rubber cover for cleats).

I've been on the XPresso 15s (yes I am that guy) for about 2 years and 20,000k and I have not a single complaint. I am on my 3 set of cleats which.... meh but they are easier to swap as there is less possibility for adjustment. They are comically light. No bearing issues, granted they do use Ceramic Speed bearings in that version but they still spin like new. I'm even a bigger guy 75kilo. The contact plate is worn pretty bad, apparently you can replace it but no reason yet. They still feel solid. I like the positive click when stepping in and the release is nice and light.

In that video they say that one of the design goals was protecting the carbon blade. I find that interesting because a friend snapped one of the blades on his pedals. To me it seemed like something impossible to break but maybe if you hit it somehow from the back side you can damage it just enough to make it eventually fail.

Got XPro 10 last night (shipped from Starbike), still waiting for a new pair of shoe that will go with it.
Bearing sound a bit rough, pedal very slowly return to position after the spin. clearly need some break in.
Stack height with cleats: about 13.4mm measured from center of the axle to top of cleat.

I scored a pair of XPRO 15s for pretty cheap. Both spin pretty good but was wondering if the inner bearings are bushings or needle bearings.

I opened one of them to get a peak and it looks like a metal something in there and not a white plastic bushing.

Hard to see down in there and I tried to pop it out but it was in there pretty good.

I digress, seems like a good pedal just trying to figure out how its constructed and whether or not I can slap some bearing on the inner... or if its already a needle bearing in there.

Finally, the Xpro 15 shares the same watt-saving CeramicSpeed bearings and super light hollow titanium spindle from the Xpresso 15 resulting in an overall weight of 87.3 grams per pedal.

To answer my own question... it is a needle roller bearing. I managed to get some light in there and snap a pic.

Pedal is the same weight as my Costello/Titan 12 copies with the fairing removed. I'm not super worried about the weight of the fairing... I'm also not sold the fairing offers much aerodynamically.

The pedal I took apart didn't spin as good as the other side. I think all it needed was a good cleaning which is what I'd hope for when buying them.

The grease and bearing were pretty dirty. Cleaned out and put it back together with some White Lightning Crystal Grease it spins smooth like the other side. Of particular importance it spins smooth enough and falls easily with the pedal in a vertical position which is nice when clipping back in.

Also got Xpresso 12. 144 grams for the pair.
It's sad the new pedal weights more. Only time i have an issue with the pedals is when i ride at night, if i clip out that is!
It's weird how difficult it is when you can't even see where to clip in :lol:
