True. The biggest offenders are tubeless rims. They rely on a friction fit with the tire bead and when too tight, tension drops. The degree this happens depends on the rim and tire chosen.

Indeed and that’s one of the benefits of Mavic UST system tolérances are controlled on both rim and tire. Then minimise tension drop that only become a problem if under rider weight and lateral stress you emd up with a slack spoke.

Bit of a thread dig, anyone having chain suck issues with the seals in these?

I did but in my case it was a faulty hub which got warrantied.

What was the cause? Have one here playing up...
Flanges were wonky.

Where the freehub sat against the hub body was out of tolerance and would generate enough friction to jam it up.
