Oh my rim brake version, the seatpost wasn't slipping but it was making a ticking noise. I just cut a small piece of electric tape and tape it on the back of seatpost, no more ticking, might help on the slippage issue too.

Is it just a matter of putting some carbon paste on the seatpost, or is the issue happening even with carbon paste and correct torque? (I'm getting worried :))

Tolerance issues become much more apparent with non-round seatposts because of uneven clamping pressure. TBH this is the first I’ve heard of a slippage issue.

Have no idea where my torque wrench is.. I'll find it some day.

The handometer is about 6sih with paste. 2 rides and no slippage.

Really should of been better prepared or designed to not need paste.

The rubber flap(seatclamp) is annoying me too.. Lip does not like to stay down. Shop gave me a second one as the first was even worse.

Might try the electrical tape next time.

OK, lubed all contact areas of the wedge that slide on it's self, applied carbon paste to the area that presses against the post, also applied carbon paste to all areas where the seat post contact the seat tube. went for a 2.5 hour ride on very bumpy roads and not one mm of slip. :beerchug: :beerchug:

Carbon is generally very lubricious. See graphite powder, graphene, etc. It should be standard protocol to use fiber-grip on any structural carbon component unless stated otherwise. Exceptions include Specialized/Trek/etc style single-bolt saddle clamps...use regular grease for those.

Found my torque wrench.. Stops slipping at around 5.5nm with paste.

Much higher than I'm used to. 6.2 definitely stops slipping.

Got to remember to take the wedge out before taking the whole post out... Had to turn the bike upside down to get it out.

You asked for more?

Slammed the stem today.

I think the position is about right now. I could never get low enough on my old bike. I might look at getting a slamset to get the stem just that bit lower. And of course it would look great.

Not sure if a bottom spacer is needed to clear the frame.

I think my battery for the di2 isn't right. Seems like it doesn't charge fully or the battery constantly discharged.

Gets through the a ride fine if I had it plugged in overnight.

...but if I don't charge it for a couple of days, then then it acts like it is out of battery.

2nd ride I've had to charge it on the go with a battery pack because I didn't charge it overnight.

Nice, as for the Di2 battery you would should get a few months out of a full charge, I recommend having you shop check it out.

Has anyone tried the new Tarmac disc with ENVE SES 4.5 AR Disc with 28 or even 30 tires? Is there enough clearance? Does it fit?
