Just finished building a sagan SL6 disc.
Can anyone confirm if sagan edition paint weights substantially more? my size 54 bare frame (with only rear hanger) comes in at 960g!! that's almost 200g heavier than what most people quoted here.

Total weight without pedals is 6.8kg at the moment:
full sram red hrd groupset with extralite chainrings
new schwalbe pro one tubeless (approx 250~260g per tire)

It's a great looking frame but 250-300g is outrageous.

That's literally the difference between the tarmac and a venge frame like wth.

i guess if you have a UCI weight minimum, a little bit of extra weight from paint is the same compared to adding extra weight on a less blingy paint job. Not to mention better for marketing!

I compiled a list of frame and bike weights from posts in the rim brake version thread (I posted the data in another thread if you’re interested), and yes I found that the Sagan colorway tended to be heavier. Small data set, but as I recall one poster’s Sagan stood out as a heavier outlier.

Hey boys,

first post here,

after months reading your publications i recently pulled the trigger.

Mine will be :

Frame: Sworks tarmac 58 (satin black / black reflective)
Stem: standard Sworks stem
Seatpost: standard seatpost
bar: Aerofly II : 44 cm
saddle: sworks power arc elaston
Groupset: sram Red etap 11v hydro wifli
Crankset: Quarq dzero red - 52/36
casette: red 11/32
Wheels: CL50 (clx were out of budget) fitted with turbo cotton
Bottlecage: Tacx Ciro black matt
pedal : probably dura ace .. still not decided between dura ace and ultegra.

I do not mention pieces like k-edge gps holder or bandit kit with co2 ..

I guess i did not forget anything, and hope it will be around 7.5 kg.

i'll keep you updated, thanks for all your inspiration !

Got the girlfriend a Tarmac disc comp di2 (2020) the other week, she has had 2 rides out on it, is happy with the 7.5kg's with pedals bearing in mind it's a 44cm. The 2 rides shes had, neither on the stock wheels, has borrowed my hunt 30's (Tubeless) and now my Roval CLX64's.
Now to start the search for some light semi aero wheels for her.
