Rotor Uno Cassette shift and noise performance

Hello there,

Does anyone have experience with this cassette and can comment on shifting and noise? I'm currently running a Dura Ace cassette (same 11-28 config)

Not sure if it' worth the shift from DA to the Rotor Uno just to save the 60g difference if shifting is sub par or if noise is too much.

Reason I ask about this is because I was gifted this by a couple of friends and, knowing the amount of benjies they had to shell for it, I'd rather have them return it and spend it all on a nice dinner with all of them if the cassette isn't worth the money they spent.

I've only ever seen one of these at one of the many local shops, and this is in SPAIN, which is where Rotor is from. Sure as heck haven't seen one "in the wild" out on a ride...

Only one boxed set. It's been at the shop for well over two months now and they haven't sold a single groupset, spare, or bike equipped with it...

But the 60g weight savings intrigues me... Is this really just a little over 100g? Is it a steel cassette? How's that even possible?

rotor say 135g which is impressive, looks like the first 8 cogs are machined in one piece of steel like a sram red cassette, with the three biggest as another piece presumably aluminium alloy that is bolted to the first

the ratios at the big cogs are quite different to sram/shimano... 11,12,13,14,15,16,17,19,21,24 ,28
compared to...
sram 11,12,13,14,15,16,17,19,22,25,28
shimano 11 / 12 / 13 / 14 / 15 / 17 / 19 / 21 / 23 / 25 / 28

i like that it has the 16, seems quite a jump from 24-28, but as the final bail-out gear maybe it makes more sense to do it this way

The weight on my scales is 133.5g incl. lock ring.

I don't know what it is made off and now I don't have a good light to take photos but if you look for a video of "tech of the week" or "tech of the month" and include "rotor" in it, you will find three guys where one of them brought the cassette to show it.

To answer the question above: I have seen a few sites that have this cassette on stock.

I can see why the appeal is a bit difficult for the groupset itself. I think it has a lot to do with marketing and styling. I am not too hot on the shape of the hoods and levers, but I can really, really see how great must the groupset feel compared to mechanical. Also, Magura brakes are amazing. Was lucky to borrow a ride on a bike with the TT shaped rim brakes and they are really tight.

same question, anybody care to comment on the shift performance? Now have Ultegra 6800, Dura-Ace 7800 and Edco but I don`t like the shifting performance of the Edco hoping the Rotor Uno cassette is better!

I just picked one up. Shifting is spot on with Dura Ace 9150 Di2 and a YBN chain. The noise is about the same. Easy to install obviously being one piece. I'll report back if it eats through my Mig 150 cassette body as it is machined on the splines to further save weight.

Thank you for this, I'm interested in one more for the gear spacing than weight savings so it would be good to know how they are to live with.

I noticed that it is also 10 speed body compatible

I had one for 4 days and traded it back in for a di2. Gear slipping despite all adjustments. Its still new id say. Lost 50% of its value.... Expensive lesson trying to be "different"

I've always suspected that when the Di2 RD detects a non-Shimano cassette in use and then it goes into a special program to mess up shifting. It's kinda like the Dieselgate but with the opposite effect!

I was on a full rotor uno including the cassette.

Swapped to a full di2 groupset.
