Hey guys. New member here, wanted to run a build by you experts for advice.

The goal:
A 1x, wireless-shifting road bike. Of course, as light/stiff as possible.

As sram doesn't make a 1x etap version (yet), I think my option would be to get an etap group, sell the FD, and add a 1x crankset. What 1x cranksets would you recommend? Can you simply add a single narrow-wide chainring to most cranksets after removing the double chainrings? If not, what complete 1X chainset would you recommend? Force 1?

Thinking of building from an Emonda ALR frame.

Thanks

Very cool.

So, specifically, were I to go from a stock 2x setup to a 1x, do I need a whole new chain set, or can most cranks be adapted to a 1x?

Any other considerations I'd need to think of before switching to 1X?

Thanks!
