Frame choice for a climbers bike

Discuss light weight issues concerning road bikes & parts.

I am lucky enough to ride most of the bikes on your list. One of the bike that is not on there and imo I feel stands slightly above the R5 would be the Argon Gallium Pro. As a current owner of the Izalco Max (stiff as a bogo stick) & previous owner of Super 6 Evo HM, R5, BH Ultra Light, Fuji. One bike that I regretted selling the most was the Gallium Pro.

The liveliest climbing bikes i have tested are Cervelo R5, Factor O2, and Bianchi Specialissima. O2 is the lightest of the bunch at 740g

Of the OP choices I like the Fuji SL, good weight, nice dimensions and price...

I also like to value a stiff and light frame, I usually do granfondo races with more or less 3500D+ so a little less grams helps a lot after a few hours. Right now I+m currently using a BH Ultralight Evo witch is a sub-700 gram at cost of 2500€ ( frame ) for this price I think its impossible to find a lighter frame.

neilpryde bura SL is another option with cheap price.

+1 on the Gallium Pro, light, stiff where it needs to be and yet comfortable.
The 2018 version has also just been released with some improvements over the previous version.

It's an option if you're into super nervous handling. I built mine to under 5kg with power meter but have decided to move it on- the geo was way too twitchy (super short chain stays maybe?).
At the end of the day frame weight means f all within reason. I have an alloy bike that's under 6kg and is a better climbing bike than the Bura.

Hi, still considering things... right now torn between the TCR and SLR01...

I can build both at around the same price... is the SLR01 (2015 model) any better than the current-gen TCR?

The TCR SL would be a great choice. I ended up purchasing a 2017 TCR ADV SL after testing the S-Works Tarmac, SS Evo, and Emonda SLR, all 2017 models. The TCR was as stiff as the Tarmac, light as the Emonda, and more comfortable than all three. Its an incredibly agile bike that also happens to be comfortable.

I'm rather happy with my Argon 18 Gallium Pro.

It's light enough - there are lighter options out there, but it is as stiff as I need it and it rides incredibly smooth.

What goes up, must come down.. I've never felt confident with my Cervelo R3SL I used to ride.
The geometry just screamed oversteer, and I would run every descent wide AF! It was down right scary, and I have a motorcycle, MTB, BMX racing background.
A good friend had a Cervelo and she was alarmed when I told her about the oversteer nature, and she had the same issue and was the reason for her selling her frame.

That being said, you can't beat the Cannondale SSEVO for price used/new and weight and geo. Everyone I know that rides them say they are one of if not the best and fastest bikes they've owned. The traditional top tube puts you in a really aggressive position and they can be built up to 9-11lb bikes with off the shelf WW parts.

I recently got a SSEVO frame, basically new but from a couple of years ago for under $900..... So yeah.. SSEVO is my frame of choice out of your list.

Ok...I'll bite. Please explain how geometry of this frame makes it "oversteer".....
