Hi,
just had the frame delivered friday. Decided to keep the Carbonbikekits wheelset in the end. I've also ordered:
- Kalloy Uno stem
- DT Swiss through axles
- Ebay seatpost (to cheap not to at least check it out)
Still debating whether to build with r785 shifters or to change to new ultegra (will probably depend on whether anyone is willing to buy the old stuff).
Have also bought a new saw for cutting the seatpost and fork, and Effetto Mariposa Carbogrip and Carbomove (as an assembly compound and for the bolts).
Still need new tyres. I want to see more revieuws on the Vittoria Corsa Controls before I decide on that.
Anyway about the frame :
Everything looks good, no sharp edges, cracks or defaults that I can see. Both frame and fork are a little heavier than advertised (906g without seat clamp, and 345g for the fork), but not horribly so. You should also note that they if you are looking to change the headset, it is the same as some specialised bikes have (Top: IS42/28,6 Bottom: IS49/37). Rather rare, but I have found both BBB and Wheels MFG to have it.
I am agonizingly busy at the moment with work, so not being able to continue building is killing me right know .

I would be absolutely over the moon with that weight, but I've an itching feeling I'm going to be disappointed when I actually weigh it. I'm guessing I've forgetting something. If a 5000 euro Canyon with the next gen di2 weighs 7,4kg, mine is probably going to weigh more. Can anyone point out the thing(s) I am missing?
Seatpost and fork are uncut (won't save to much but still), but I'll probably add some grams for assembly paste and grease. And then another 150g when my behind says no to the saddle .

The weight sounds reasonable. My CX Di2 disc build is 7.96kg (viewtopic.php?f=10&t=148463). My frame, fork, wheelset, and tires are about 200 + 100 + 200 + 150 = 650 grams heavier than your build.
The 100 gram saddle is mostly useful for the scale. So, kind of cheating.

Any updates to this build? Would love a photo!
Building my apartment is taking preference over the bike . The build is thus temporrely stalled. I did find out post mount adapters don't fit the frame, so I had to buy rs505 brake calipers. Shedding the adapters as well as going to 140mm in the back should at least loose a few grams.
Having no decent smarthpone, this picture is currently the best I can do...
Finally got around to building it up!
Hoping to get a ride in soon, but (apart from some cable management) at least I can show some pictures.
Eventually I'll probably put on a 'real saddle', some lighter pedals, and when I put on new tires I'll align the logo's with the valves . I'll change the front rotor to 140mm at some point too, as I fond the current clearance between the fork and the rotor risky. As well as buying a phone with a better camera!

After checking my setup, it does look quite close indeed, no more than 1-1.5mm. Too bad I can't change the rotor back to 140mm wthout changing the front caliper too. What's the current bike weight? Really like how 45mm rims look on it, I'm torn between 35mm (lighter) and 45mm (looks and aero) for a new set of wheels.
I've ordered a cheap luggage scale (but also from China, in theme with the bike ) so I'll know soon enough. It was estimated at 7,5kg with my 105 pedals. Lost some grams on the rear rotor (160mm -> 140mm) and by being forced to use flat mount calipers in stead of post mount + adapters. Would've dropped another 200g if I had gone for the new 8070 brifters and new pedals. New tires could also net 50g. Another 60g with a Bontrager xxx style integrated handlebar. 20g with a 140mm rotor in the front. 40g on one of those headset expanders I don't entirely trust. In the end, I can't really afford to get to weight-conscious with it. I'd have to switch to a current gen groupset to properly get it light.
With the rotor I've found that I can put a frame protector sticker on the fork without it touching the rotor. Reduces the clearance to less than a millimeter. But I'm hoping that, should the rotor touch the fork, I'll notice on the sticker before it ruins my fork.
