Hi,

I am new to Campagnolo Groupset but got a question hopping someone could help.

Recently fitted new Record EPS 11sp groupset and i put on my old wheels which is a Shimano Ultegra 11sp casette. Did a short ride and it seems to be working fine without any issues nor was there any noise.

Not sure if this will damage the rear derailleur?

No, it definitely won't damage your derailleur or anything else for that matter.

The spacing on 11 speed cassettes are similar these days between Campagnolo, Shimano and SRAM so they're essentially cross-compatible. You may not get the absolute best shifting performance as you would from a complete system, but it will work.

I use Campagnolo SR with a SRAM Red cassette, absolutely no issues and very smooth and fast shifting.

It won't damage anything.

Campy sells both Shimano and Campy freehubs with their wheels.

Sprocket spacings differ so no, it won't damage anything but the shift will definitely be compromised.
Also be aware of the range limitations on EPS RDs.
Last - do you *really* want to spend all that money on EPS then throw your warranty in the bin (assuming it's new) - because that is what you are doing ...

@graeme_f_k In what way will the shifting be compromised, as mentioned above I'm running SR with a SRAM Red cassette and the shifting is absolutely perfect, hasn't even needed any tweaking/adjustment in 2500km, in fact I was expecting issues and have been very pleasantly surprised at the lack of any.

He means that you're not perceptive/perfectionist enough to notice any compromise, like me :(

Seriously? Warranty? Because if something happened to one of the derailleurs Campagnolo would be able to determine he was using a non-Campagnolo cassette? That would be a nifty trick.

Obviously you never have owed a company. How would you you like to repair/make something, then someone else changes it, then blame it on you? If I recall, didn't the Dura Ace cassettes have an issue of breaking? If that ruined your Campagnolo derailleur, who should pay for that?

I cannot blame any company to say 'use all my stuff or you may have an issue when it comes to a warranty repair'.

It's hard to imagine how a shimano/scram cassette could break a campy derailleur.
