Never let it go as far as 10%, but I would expect about 8 - 9 hours of use. This is while following a course, recording interval set to 1s and recording HR, power, cadence/speed and Di2 gears. Have disabled the buddy settings, but keep it connected to my phone.

Look at these several options https://www.bestadvisers.co.uk//solar-chargers, personally, I like the backpack - it's quite convenient, but then you'll have to use a long cord. There is still a very cool project on kickstart, but I do not know how you could fix it and need a flashlight) But it's very small and powerful. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/luminaid/ultralight-phone-charger-luminaid-solar-inflatable?utm_campaign=7pzrc1j5&utm_content=link&utm_medium=redirect&utm_source=kickbooster

Best way is to use a "Charge Only Cable" (non-Garmin) with an external battery. Otherwise, the Garmin will keep trying to import data. Reduce brightness and if your Garmin has a Power Save mode use it. I routinely do 15 to 20 hour rides and have found the techinques above work most of the time.

Or replace your battery...

As an alternative, I am thinking about drilling a small hole in the back and connecting two batteries in parallel. It should last 14+ hours.
Going nuts; I am also contemplating about removing the small speaker and putting the extra battery pack inside. That'll be a much cleaner solution at the expense of not having audible alerts...

I was going to suggest a lipstick battery, similar to what JackRussellRacing was using before switching to Wahoo. I have a flashlight holder with a GoPro mount attached to a K-Edge that I was using for a light, would probably work really well with a lipstick style battery. The way I have my 1000 mounted, the battery port should be easily accessable, but YMMV.

I'll leave it up to you to figure out the other 30%. If you are in any way offended, that's on you.

I just bought this one from eBay. Should be simple enough to replace myself.

If it was me, I'd go Amazon. Much easier recourse if you get a bad or incorrect product. But that's just me.

Battery life on my 510 increases dramatically if I simply turn off bluetooth.
