Orbea Orca OMR ride quality
Moderator: robbosmans
I'll add more input later once I get a few more rides in. But, my 51cm with no frame hardware came in at 817g and fork cut was 321. Built with Super Record, EE brakes, Fizik cockpit, Berk Saddle, and Bora One tubulars it was 6,000 grams on the dot. Other than my custom bikes, I can't remember the last production bike that I've ridden that has given me a grin like this bike did today within the first dozen pedal strokes.

I've got a heavy OME and really like the ride. IMO it's comfy and super duper stiff.
I'm 86kg, so I won't worry about frame weight too much until I lose another 10-15 kg.
I've since cut the steerer another inch, put my speedplays on and swapped for heavier wheels (Aksium Elite). It's about 8 kg right now.

Thank you very much.Beaver wrote:The Orca OMR with rim brakes has 38mm real space front and 40mm rear - so 26mm width are no problem.
Are you sure? 38mm and 40mm ? It's too much.
So the real limit it's the brakes clearance ?
Yes, these were 25mm Conti 4000S II on rims with 21mm inner width, so real 28mm tire width and 25mm height:Rone69 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 1:08 pmThank you very much.Beaver wrote:The Orca OMR with rim brakes has 38mm real space front and 40mm rear - so 26mm width are no problem.

This was a 55cm frameset, but with 53cm and 51cm it is the same.

Using 26mm Spesh Turbo w/Roval CLX and 46 shoes on a 55.5. No problem.

I did not have my hands on a disc frameset yet, but officially both versions have clearance for 27mm tires as stated in the manual:
"Fits most 27C tires (tire width varies by manufacturer and rim width, some combinations may not have desired clearance".
