I am not sure whether Shimano Powermeter works with K-Edge Pro Braze-on Chain Catcher with SRM Magnet? It stated it would work with other leading power meter brands. This would eliminate the need to stick a magnet to the frame.

Saw that yesterday, but still unable to update from Android despite having tried a Samsung Galaxy S2 Tablet, S6, and S9 Smartphones.

Works fine on with the 9100-P and my Scott Solace frame.

Just curious, how do you know what true L/R power is?

I don't have any data, but I wonder if small differences in power between each leg is more the norm than the exception.

I have upgraded to 4.0.7. Did 125km yesterday. Still 52/48 L/R. The only other data point I have is that my Vectors read 49/51 L/R. Either could be right but I am right handed so expect my right leg to be stronger. But whose to say which is right.

One thing I can say is Shimano PM has never dropped out unlike Vectors that used to drop out and have all sorts of errors that made me get rid of them and buy a Stages as a interim until the Shimano came out. It also had errors (drop outs and failure to zero etc). With the Shimano I get the same overall power reading on FTP efforts so am not sure what to make of it all.

Finally was able to update the firmware. Despite being brand new, apparently someone reset the default pass code as I did a reset by holding the control button for 15-seconds and was then able to connect with the default passkey and was prompted to set a new value, afterwhich the firmware updated.

Good. Note, just holding the button for 15-seconds should not reset the passcode, rather it should just do a hardware reset. In order to reset the passcode, you should have to attach the charging cable AND then press the button. This is a security feature.

I am right footed and over years I have a L 49% to R 51% differenc with P2MAX and SRM Powermeters. Since the use of the R9100 P that changed to L 53-52% !
And in front of all, this is a known bug. Curious is, that you know not of that.

Oh, it´ s not my intent to confuse you. I know exactly my L/R differences over years and thousands of kilometers with different powermeters, but it´ s yours to believe it or not. What L/R balance shows your R9100 P ? Here is a review of the Shimano powermeter if you donˋt trust my statement: https://www.bikeradar.com/road/gear/cat ... iew-51582/

P2M is not recording the true L/R but « calculate » it.

Oh I am well aware of the bikeradar review where one unit appear to have a different power per leg measurement than a PowerTap and Vector 3. And thank you for providing me with what you consider to be a 'gold standard' measurement, that was all my question was! (And I do note that the comparison is with 2 different crank based powermeters...)

You may consider it a 'known bug', I am simply trying to obtain more information as the data presented thus far isn't unequivocal in my opinion (and I am still sorting through if detecting small differences in R/L power have any meaningful impact on training and racing, but that is another story entirely).

I am interested in the dcrainmaker review when it comes out (as I am sure many others are)!

Sure, but if L/R balance isn't important then there's no point paying the premium for the two seperate power meters that make up an R9100P. A spider based unit like a Quarq Dfour/Dzero does the same job with only one set of electronics.
