Have been looking at what i believe is a NOS 2015 Battaglin Hyper Frame-set, size Medium for what seems like a reasonable price, does anyone own one of theses of have any reviews or info on this frameset. From what i can work out, this is a bespoke design frame rather than an open mould frame with a fancy paint job. Its a mail order purchase so i haven't seen the frame in person yet, so i can return it if not happy. But any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Fwiw, I certainly would not infer from Planet X's description that these frames are original designs conceived by Battaglin. I would not be surprised if Battaglin merely put their name onto ODM frames and Planet X now tries to shift these shopkeepers that they bought from them for little money.

It seems the original Italians now operate as "Officina Battaglin". You could ask them if they ever made, designed or branded this frame. https://www.battaglin-cicli.com/

Phlip,

would tend to agree with you on that, doubt the original RRP as well, although Salden do the frame-set of 1150Euros.

Battaglin have pretty much stopped Carbon bikes apparently and concentrate on Steel frame-sets and builds now.

i've allready Emailed them without any reply yet.

Well here is the response from Battaglan,

Good Day Paul
Hyper Frame is a 2015 carbon model. Designed in Italy

So at least they had a hand in designing and speccing the frame and it's not just a logo and fancy paint job on a completely Open Mould frame, and to be fair that kinda fits with what scant info i have managed to find on the frame and Battaglin. It's certainly on my short list for frames for the next build.

You would not prefer a open mould from one of the popular Chinese companies? You can have them painted too if you don't like all black.

"Designed in Italy" could simply mean one person at Battaglin knows how to launch AutoCAD/Photoshop and edit some paintjob mask template given by an ODM.

Yes"Designed in Italy" might not actually mean a whole lot, i already have a couple of Chinese open mould 27.5 FS and CX frames from Iplay and they're OK. Would probably go for a Carbonspeed CS-066-B or similar with a custom paint job if i go Chinese open mould.the hard part will be deciding on a paint design or maybe stick with a single colour.

UK shop Comtat had a nicely painted open mould a year or two ago. Sold them for silly money, more than two thousand pound sterling. Perhaps you find that wine red inspiring? https://roadcyclinguk.com/gear/london-b ... chemy.html
