I want to drop some weight. I had never really thought of changing out my cables and housings, but if I can get somewhere in the neighborhood of a 70 gram loss, I'm in. Currently have Campy cables.

So, since I have no idea which brand to get, please enlighten me.

Which cable system will work with Campy and provide the biggest weight loss?

Additionally, I'll be swapping cages, bolts, expander, and anything else I can find that isn't astronomical to do.

Thanks in advance.

I'm using noname aluminum stranded housing that is 26g/m brake and 20g/m shift. Around two dollars per meter here in China. Noname...

Brake cables have kevlar reinforcement. They work fine.. not super slick but with teflon coated cables they are fine.

Fasi Turbo Plus if you are looking for "traditional" looking housing with a vinyl outer (and they are lined). 28g/meter for brake, 18g/meter for derailleur...so for a split cable system about 50 - 55 grams saved.

some of the segmented types are very slightly lighter in the brake category
- but there are tradeoffs to them (installation, creaking, rub against frame, etc).

Some hardcore WW like Xena and others members use 'Tune housing' with some 'tune' (sure!).
