Another workshop question if I may. My front shifter seems not to stop at the "zero" position. On the downshift it is as if the ratchet goes down but does not catch and then shifts back up.
With cable removed, a new cable cannot be fit as the loop is not in position unless the downshift button is pushed down. Any ideas what causes this

Hope the video is usable?

There is a small ball bearing inside that goes in and out of indentations that allow the front der to stay there despite the spring in that der. My guess would be that perhaps the rear Allen head bolt that holds all the indexing plates and springs and washers in place may have loosened up and this the indexing ball has lost some of its holding power. Just a guess. (From the factory it has locktite on it). Campy has a rebuild video online for the right lever. It would be a similar set of steps for the left once you adjust to seeing the right vs left lever.
Glad it worked out so simple!!
