Best Aluminum Frames out

Bringing this topic back to life since i'm looking for a new aluminium frameset to replace my ten year old Cervélo Soloist Team.

I was looking for the Bowman Palace R, but Trek just released there updated ALR...
Pricing for both frames is the same. But is the Trek more 'advanced'? I'm thinking of:
- The carbon front fork which is the same as in their top-end frames
- The hydroforming of the tubes.
- The 'invisible welding' technique
- The direct mount brakes
- The DuoTrap S integrated sensor
- The internal cables
...

What are your thoughts?

The new standert kreissage to come is on the paper the best for me
After having ridden a CAAD12 and an allez sprint

Kreissage new version will be released the 7th of august .
- Scandium tubing made in Italy ( from Dedacia )
- Threadfit 47 bottom bracket
- Direct mount brakes front and rear
- DI2 or mechanical routing
- 3 paints job annonced

I like the Standert Kreissage frame. Definitely needs a FD though .
I wonder what's the price of frameset only.

The actual one is cheap , it was already a great price but now reduced , direct on their website

but you would have to use etap if you want to go 2X

the new one uses expensiver tubing and as some really intersting features
so I would assume it will be a little more expensive

I can't see how the Bowman can be more advanced than the ALR given how big Trek's research budget must be.
I've got the original ALR, rides so nice and has a rock solid warranty.

Blasting/stripping? The paint? No, no plans on doing that.

It's a couple of years old now but the caad12 is a really nice performing frame. Especially now that they have the supersix fork on the disc version. I don't see how you could beat it for performance vs price. The cable routing is better than the Trek and looks better than the Allez, looks are subjective though.

Personal preference of course, but I would take the external cables and BSA BB on the Palace:R over internal cables and pressfit BB on the ALR any day of the week.

The way the internal cables are done on the Trek ALR is pretty good, actually. Enters on the top of the downtube behind the head tube, runs straight down the tube and then both derailleur cables exit out the bottom of the down tube an inch or so before the BB, then they go into the standard external cable guide under the BB from which point they are external to the derailleurs. My canyon alloy Ultimate does similar and it works well.. very easy to work with. Agree on the pressfit BB though.... the one thing I'm unsure of on this frame... my canyon has annoying BB tick that I can't get rid of and it is also PF86.

I replaced my Soloist Team a couple years ago with an Allez Sprint when they first came out. I couldn't be happier and now I own a 2nd Allez Sprint. I found the Allez to handle better, jump better, and genuinely be more comfortable to ride.

Cyfac. They do custom and stock geometry, and they sand their welds so they look smooth. It makes a difference if only for the sake of aesthetics.

One of the best frames I've ever owned. I'll see about posting a couple of photos very soon.

I recently switched from a Cervelo R3 with Force and DA C24s to a Bowman Palace R with Ultegra and (good) Chinese 38mm carbon wheels. I prefer the latter to ride as it manages to be ‘racey’ and have a snappy feel while being almost as smooth riding as the R3. It really is an impressive frameset and an absolute bargain at £750 for the Limited Edition version.
