Q36.5 Gear
Been meaning to add another pair of bibs to the wardrobe, so I just ordered a pair of Q36.5 Salopette Gregarius Ultra. My favorite bibs are my Assos Equipe Evo S7, work perfectly for me, but I can't find more at a reasonable price. I also have a pair of Assos RS S9, but the pad isn't as comfortable as that in the S7. Castelli Free Aero race were ok, but the gel inserts came out, still ride them though. dhb Aeron actually aren't bad, pad surface is a bit rough, but with some creme, they're almost as good as the S9s. Bike24 also had the Dottorre L1 bibs, but the pictures show the previous model, not the revised ones, so I figured the updated Gregarius would be the better way to go. Fingers crossed.

I have purchased a pair of size S Unique gloves. Sizing and fit are spot on (following the official sizing chart). I tested the gloves yesterday and today (2x20 km) and I have experienced a serious problem which basically makes the gloves unusable for me:
The thumb hole of the right glove is about 3 mm narrower than the left thumb and, more importantly, the stitching near the hole seems to be at a slightly different angle/position than the left one, and it is also a little bit thicker and rougher. As a result, when I grab the handlebars, the seam puts too much pressure on the middle joint of my right thumb, close to the thumb webbing. It is so uncomfortable that it causes serious pain after 15-20 minutes. This happens only on the right thumb, there is absolutely no problem with the left glove (and my left thumb). My two thumbs are not different from each other, by the way, and I have never had such a problem before with any other gloves, so there is definitely something wrong with these gloves.
I have used many different gloves over the years and I have never experienced such pain from any of them. I was really looking forward to the Unique gloves on the basis of my highly positive experience with Q36.5 bib shorts, but I am very disappointed. I still feel the pain caused by the glove now, 3 hours after my second ride today.

That's what I thought too. Unfortunately, they are out of stock for the next 3 months foreseeably. And Q36.5 are out of stock too, but I have sent them an email about this issue last night
UPDATE: Q36.5 customer service has offered to have them altered for me if I send them in (they are covering postage too). I hope they can figure out what's wrong with the seam (my right thumb still hurts from last night)

Q36.5 has altered the gloves (it seems it was a manufacturing issue) and now they fit well with no more pressure from the seam. It has been a great experience overall (Q36.5 took care of expedited shipping both ways and even threw in a small gift as consolation).steveadore wrote: ↑Wed Jun 23, 2021 7:19 amThat's what I thought too. Btw, if anyone is thinking about buying the Unique gloves, makes sure you follow the official size chart. I normally wear size M gloves in other brands, but had to size down to S in the Unique (following the chart). M would definitely have been too large
Any suggestions regarding which size of bibs I should get? I am 184 cm tall with long legs, weigh 72-75 and have 80cm waist and 92cm chest. Based on Q's sizing guide I should go with M or even L based on first two measurements bit with S based on the latter two

179cm, 70-71kg, 84cm waist, 95cm hips. The Gregarius Ultra is a perfect fit in size M

If you disregard the price, fabric, and constructions differences, which one would you choose between the Gregarius Ultra and the Dottore (X) purely based on comfort and long-term durability (both for road and MTB)? I have the Ultras and quite like them and I wonder if I should buy a second pair or upgrade to the Dottore. I don't race and the compression on the Ultras is plenty enough for me. The Dottore is tempting, but the older L1 version lacks the Dyneema C Cup interface of the Ultra, and the X version, is about 40% more expensive (but it has the Dyneema panel). I'm not sure I would like the straps of the Dottore though (I'm quite happy with those on the Ultra, where the front is similar to Assos S7). And some have mentioned that the chamois pad on the Dottore is thinner than the Ultra. Lastly, someone also complained about the Dottore fabric pilling after a few hundred kms (I can't remember if it was the X version with Dyneema or the L1 without). Any comparisons would be really appreciated. Thanks.

It depends on where you live. In Canada, Roadkit has a few jerseys and bibs in less common sizes on sale and a few raspberry Pinstripe jerseys in most sizes. Some stores (including Roadkit) also have a buy a jersey/bib at full price and get a free base layer 1 deal going on.
