BTW the manufacture standards of the fork seem to be at the low end... :/

This thread is F**ing awesome. Really looking forward to seeing the final build and paint job. The frame and fork weight seem fine to me, those components do turn it into a bit of a beast. Thanks for posting and good look with the project.
.
I love you guys. Seriously.

My 2012 CAAD10 -1 in anodised black was 1100 grams frame in size 52cm with cable hanger and RD hanger and my fork was 371g uncut and 355g cut. Think your fork must have a lot more paint

I m considering CAAD as my reserve bike.
This is crazy helpful post! Thanks prenderefeu.

Anyway. is there any information about or comparision between Canyon's Ultimate AL slx?
They claimed their frame also light weight even it was 2 yrs ago.

Just picked it up this morning on the way to a client's office.
Polished weight and more detailed photos this weekend.
Without the paint you can really see the details of the frame - it's actually quite amazing and has some very subtle 'aero' features.

Nice. Do you know if they polished it totally by hand, or did they perhaps throw it in a tub of "stuff" to polish it, or was it a hybrid approach?

A combination of hand & machine. I took it to a shop that only does polishing/finishing. The place is kinda ridiculously outfitted with equipment and compounds that I've never seen before, and the guy who worked on it has been polishing for the better part of 4 decades.

You've managed to make out subtle aero features after all the paint has been removed?

Subtle 'aero' features? You must be the first person in the world to notice them. Must be very 'subtle.'

Downtube as it nears the bottom bracket triangulates on the bottom side and flattens out on the top side, where the water bottle cages would be.
Similar to what happens on the (Cervelo) S5.

This was less defined with the paintjob, but a bit clearer and more obvious without it.

Is this the case with the downtube on a CAAD10 ?
