The front derailleur hanger has been shaved(yeah I know but I saved 10 grams)
The left shiffter has been removed(picture does not show)
The fork has been cut(left the cone)
Winter is coming here in Quebec, Canada, so I guess I won't be able to let you know my impressions until next spring.
This bike has been built for one thing in mind: Commuting, therefore it had to be light, comfortable and simple, I am a MTB guy so front derailleur had to go.
Weight: 6kg.
Hope you like it.
@Clownfreak, that bike deserves a topic of it's own with a lot of pictures in high res. First of all because it deserves it, and second of all because this topic belongs to @prendrefeu and his project. Very much looking forward to the pics
Inquiring minds would like to know.

Orbital sander + sanding paper grit 220-then 320- then 400
Cordless drill with cloth disc + brown rouge polish paste
Applied graphics bought on Ebay
Light soda blast( buy some baking soda and search "soda blasting DIY on YOU TUBE")
Light polish with white rouge polish paste
Remove graphics!
One other thing: Trust yourself!
That has to be one of the most beautiful finishes i have EVER seen on a frame.
If it weren't because I know I just don't have the patience for proper hand polishing I would be considering doing the exact same thing to my CAAD9 very, VERY seriously. The fact that it takes a full 100g off the frame is really nice too.
I have it built down to 6.33kg at the moment. I can take another 100g off the casette, 100g off the cranks, 100g off the handlebars and about 60g off the pedals. If we add another 100g off the frame on top of all that the bike would be coming in just a hair under 5.9kg
I'd be over the moon if I managed to get a bike built around a 56cm, 10 year old frame under 6kg.
If I got caad 12 from LBS. Could I spec it for SI 50/34 & 11-40T & long cage RD+roadlink?

Hey guys, brand new member here with my first post. As a brand new CAAD12 owner I thoroughly enjoyed this thread. Anyone find a carbon seat post for the CAAD12 that isn't $200 and/or doesn't require a wait time for delivery of 4-5 weeks like the Hylix? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

USE had a 25.4 in seatpost in the Alien line, not easy to find but there is a (red) one on eBay.
Thomson also has a 25.4 with the elite model (found in France with 25,4 search rather than 25.4 used by Anglo-Saxons)
