Just got my Fuji SL Elite 2017 frameset today, and dropped it off to my LBS for it to get built with the components that I already have.

Was on the Canyon Ultimate CF SLX 2015 previously, sold that frame last month. Was thinking hard between the Fuji SL and the Bianchi Specialissima (I know, price points for both frames couldn't be further off!). Ended up going with the Fuji SL as couldn't justify the much higher cost of the Specialissima (even though I love it).

First impressions are that it's crazy stupid light! I was already on a relatively light-ish Canyon but when picking up the SL it is noticeably lighter. Minor gripe I have is the raw carbon layup look of it, in order to save on overall weight I'm guessing Fuji kept the paint job to a minimal - hence the carbon layup is pretty visible throughout the entire frame. I'm sure I'll grow to love it though, seems a small tradeoff for a much lighter frame.

You're going to love it! Every time I ride my SL, I enjoy it more and more. It has far exceeded my expectations in every way possible. Enjoy!

The bare carbon looks the biz to me, really like it. I wasn't sure originally about the gold highlights but they have grown on me too, especially with a gold KMC X10SL chain. And maybe add some green bar tape to complement the gold

I do love my Fuji SL 1.1 as well. I ordered also the SL 1.1 disc frameset and I will build it in the next couple of months, I hope I will enjoy it as the standard frame.

Gold KMC chain! That's a pretty good idea. Had been thinking of getting an all black chain from KMC initially but figured it would look weird with a standard silver cassette.

I've got an entry level SL 3.3, which I've upgraded with new nearly everything. I love it so much I'll probably upgrade the frame and fork to 1.1 in a year or two.

Gold KMC chain! That's a pretty good idea. Had been thinking of getting an all black chain from KMC initially but figured it would look weird with a standard silver cassette.

You could even go gold chain, alloy bolts, cable crimps for a very intentional but not over the top look. Congrats that's a beautiful frame.

How do you come up with too small?
The seat clamp is at the center of the rails on a moderate setback seatpost, and the stem looks quite short. All I see is a headtube that is made for a more aggressive position that the owner can tolerate, hence the massive stack of spacers. The look could be improved with a large conical spacer above the headset.

Love this bike! Need to get that stem lower...

The handle bar is turned way up. The headtube is obviously too short. A larger frame with the handlebar with less reach will provide optimum handling. Going for a too small frame to save weight is the current fad and it compromises safety with such a long steer tube above the headset.
