Hi there, fitted JuinTech GT Hydro/Mech calipers on my SprintDisc...you need flat mount adapters front and depending on disc size at the rear...vegardma wrote: ↑Mon Jun 28, 2021 11:50 amHi Guys. New on this site. I've had a Allez Sprint for a year now (waiting for a Venge) but I'm now trading it for an Allez Sprint Disc. However I was thinking of fitting some mechanical calipers, but I have no idea on which mounting brackets I need. I've got some old Avid flat mounts calipers, but I'm considering these:

From what I can gather, my LBS is expecting some changes to the frame ("aluminum SL7", his words), with a "late July" unveil. I'd say we're currently in late July, so if he's correct it should be any time now. They're already taking deposits, and he expects that the completes will ship with 105 based on the price that is showing in his system. No word on colours or official word on groupset.
I'm eagerly anticipating this, and would KILL for more information. Might be my only shot to get a bike I'm happy with for the next year or so it seems.
A guy on the Specialized subreddit said "Just got a call from my LBS saying the rep said Allez Sprint won’t be out for 2022."
But I've also heard the aluminum SL7 rumor. And another time I saw that rumor the person was claiming they weren't shipping until Spring 2022.
I contacted Specialized about getting a 2021 model in 56 and they basically said they ship a few every month and to call shops asking if they have an unclaimed one ordered.
And unrelated, but based on your username, do you live in AZ?

This is awful news, but I'm not sure how much I believe it. They effectively didn't make an actual MY2021 bike either, the frames that were sold as MY2021 were identical to the MY2020 frames (even the colour). To not have a MY2022 frame either would render the bike dead for the next few years I'd say. My LBS was pretty adamant that something is coming, confident enough to tell me which of the 6 bikes they're getting in are already spoken for in the form of deposits.
Nope, I've never even been!
I hope the "Aluminum SL7" will get a new name, rather than keep calling it Allez Sprint though. So that we don't have to call the current Allez Sprint as the old Allez Sprint or Allez Sprint Classic.
The current Allez Sprint is inspired to be crit bike, it use deep Venge seatpost.
If a new bike is truely SL7-ish, with toned down aero design for weight reduction vs Venge design, maybe they can call it Allez Surge.

Picking up a 2018 rim version in chameleon purple/black fork later today with a Roval wheelset and Ultegra 6800. LBS has no idea when a 56 would be in stock and this is priced the same as a new one but is slightly more built up anyway.

Man, what the hell is going on with the 2022 version of this bike?? They didn't update it at all for MY2021, it's essentially been since summer of 2019 that any changes have been made to this at all. I've heard it's not dead and will be updated, but seeing is believing...
Love the valves you're using, what's the brand?
