As title says. Looking for the lightest even if it's not specifically bar tape. I know the cinelli stuff is light and the 1.8 mm lizard skin. Anything out there lighter?

The 1.8mm Lizard Skin lasted a few weeks before fraying where the cable ran under the tape.

I get a lot of use out of Deda Elementi foam tape. With my bars since I don't wrap the tops, tape job comes out to around 25g.

I bought three Deda tapes in the last two months

Deda Carbon Black was around 90grams, really tough easy to clean tape, feels kind of plastic, but not unpleasant

Deda Mistral Red was around 60grams, this stuff is real nice, leather imitation, I rewrapped it like four times to get the cable routing and hood position sorted, no problems and feels nice (not a weenie bike)

Deda Traforato, as above it's a cork finish
Full rolls, with paper backing
Haven't wrapped it yet, seems like pretty good tape to look at/feel

The deda perforated stuff is light, at +/- 40 gr for a complete wrap, but you have to be really carefull not to stretch it to much, because, if you do, chances are you rip it apart. I made the mistake the firt time I used them. Once fitted, they have a nive feel and after 1 1/2 season, still nearly new to look at. For my other bike, I bought some cheap M84U cork bar tape, and I was surprised the whole thing only weighted 45 gr. And you can stretch it without a problem. The left over was something like 10 gr, so 35 gr for a trad. wrap of a 42cm bar.

You don't usually end up using all the tape

Fizik superlight classic, wraps nicely and looks good, but complete with bungs weighed 80g. Its supposed to be superlight! I read somewhere it should be 50g inc bungs, but clearly it's not and its not superlight either.

edit:

Just realized that I weighed it before removing the sticky bit backing paper, so therefore it might be 79g

Invisible Tape - Weight - 0 grams

Always.

But seriously, never used bar tape. I'm either on the tops or on the hoods. Then again, I won't put a case on my phone - I like shiny things :)

I only use hockey tape or zefal cloth tape. The hockey tape should be around 20g, cloth tape maybe 25-30g The cloth tape is better but renfrew hockey tape is pretty good. Once the tack wears off the tape will be perfect for many months to come.
